My love of comics goes way back. All through high school, I worked at a local comic shop in Memphis near Memphis State (now University of Memphis). While in high school I became manager of their second location. I eventually opened my own store in 1988 called “The Comic Strip”.

Life eventually lead me to my lovely bride Stephanie.  We were married in Townsend, Tennessee and fell in love with the area. In 2008 we called East Tennessee our home.

I always thought that the Biddle Building would be a great location for a comic book store.  In 2015, I purchased the building from its original owner.  Renovations began soon after.  The Golden Age had its grand opening on Free Comic Book Day, May 7, 2016.

I love the building and its rich history.

The Biddle Building originally housed WGAP radio station and was home to Maryville’s first pizzeria, Candlelight Pizza.

We are located on the corner of Court and High Street.

We look forward to seeing you.
